1926

Hoffman Drug was established in 1926 as Houtz-Grissom Drug Co by Dan Houtz and his partner, whom he later bought out and changed the name to Houtz Drug.

1973

Dan Houtz owned and operated the store until 1959. At that time his son, Dave Houtz, took over the family business until August of 1973.

Bruce and Jenny Hoffman purchased Houtz Drug in August of 1973.

1979

Bruce and Jenny operated in the original location until the fall of 1979. At that time he purchased the current building, which quadrupled the size of the business, adding a Ben Franklin franchise.

Name changed to Hoffman Drug

1988

Bruce and Jenny made the decision to once again remodel and added True Value Hardware to the business.

Bruce and Jenny decided it was time to improve services to the community and opened a large home appliance business in the old drug store location.

2003

Ryan and Sherri Smithburg purchased Hoffman Drug from Bruce and are currently the owners.

Pharmacist & Owner

Ryan owns Hoffman Drug and is a Registered Pharmacist (RPH) with certifications in immunizations including influenza, zostavax and pneumonia. He is an avid CU Buffs fan and loves coaching basketball for Limon High School.
