Sildenafil is the active ingredient in Viagra®. Brand name Viagra® comes in 25mg, 50mg and 100mg tablets. As of now, Sildenafil generic is only available in the 20mg tablets. For example, 50 tablets of generic Sildenafil 20mg is equivalent to 10 tablets of Viagra® 100mg.

Sildenafil 20mg is the generic equivalent to a brand name medication called Revatio ® 20mg. Revatio ® 20mg obtained the patent for Sildenafil 20mg, however, Viagra ® obtained the patent for 25mg, 50mg, and 100mg. Sildenafil 20 mg has the exact same active ingredients as brand name Viagra ®, but just in a different strength. Revatio ® 20mg lost its brand name patent and has now become generic. This is why Sildenafil 20mg is significantly more affordable than brand name Viagra®.
